Revision Coaching at le Chapy
An individually-crafted week's programme for GCSE, AS or A2 candidates in the Easter and Christmas holidays, or at other times, subject to other commitments.
Who said revision is fun? Not I. But we all know it is important. Is your family facing the prospect of that Easter holiday before GCSEs or A-levels or that Christmas holiday before January exams? We have an idea which may help. At le Chapy we have three self-catering gites suitable for families and while the family enjoy their holiday I can offer revision guidance: it could be just the help you need. And if not fun, it can be satisfying and worthwhile.
What's in it for the rest of the family?

Who am I? I am a teacher with wide academic interests. I have been a Head of History, General Studies and Critical Thinking. I have taught History, RS, French and some Sports Studies to A-level.
In that time I have specialised in senior level tutoring, including UCAS and Oxbridge advice and preparation; and interview coaching for candidates for Oxbridge and Law and Medicine.
I am also an A-level examiner and question writer. So I know very well from the examination's side what you need to do. I know how we examiners think, and I know what we want.

Before you come: We will plan your week together. What should be on your revision chart? What are you most worried about? Where can I help best? What tricks and techniques can I pass on? I shall be in touch, so that before you come you will know what you need to bring, and we can make sure your programme is best suited for you.
When you arrive: I will give you 10 hours of coaching and/or teaching, and I will be "on call" for half the time you are with us, to deal with any problems, give advice if needed, and help you keep up to date with the schedule we have agreed. French conversation, of course, will be easy to arrange. How about a visit, or some shopping, in French, or discussion of those oral exam topics?
And what about the rest of the family? The Loire valley is not just a summer-season destination. Most of its attractions are there all the year round: chateaux do not fly south for the winter, and nor do the French refuse to sell wine! In effect you get the benefits of an off-season break. The normal fee for the accommodation as set out on our website, and £200 for the tuition. For that we will provide:
Any extra teaching over and above the ten hours will be charged at £20 per hour. See Rates and booking information
Groups: for two candidates the tuition fee falls to £180 each for the week, and for three I charge £150 each. I am open to taking larger groups by arrangement, but the aim is to help each candidate as an individual, so numbers will always be limited.
